OLYMPICS : RAFAEL NADAL'S QUEST FOR 2ND GOLD, SHATTERED !
Tennis Legend Rafael Nadal's quest for an unprecedented second Gold Medal in the Olympics' Men's Tennis Singles has been ruthlessly shattered by Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro, in the Semis. Del Potro has beaten Nadal, representing his native Spain, in a Semi-Finals 3-set thriller in Rio. Del Potro has also decimated another Tennis Legend, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, previously earlier in the first round. Nadal, Olympic Gold Medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was looking to be the first man to win 2 Gold Medals at the Olympics' Men's Tennis Singles. Nadal, however, will bring home a Gold in Men's Doubles, instead. Del Potro, just ranked 141st in the world, is now set to have a showdown with Britain's Andy Murray, World's No.2, in the Finals for Gold. Despite his unimpressive world ranking, Del Potro is considered a top-notch, dangerous player, just sidelined by years of wrist injuries. Murray, on the other hand, Gold Medalist at the 2012 London Olympics,is likewise looking to win that elusive, record-setting 2nd Gold in Olympic Tennis.
