Boris Becker, now one of the most high-profile coaches in tennis, has served as coach for Novak Djokovic for 3 years, and is widely credited for Djokoker's 6 Grand Slam trophies out of his total 12.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Djokovic announced the split and thanked Becker for his 'cooperation, teamwork, dedication and commitment,' saying the goals they set together when they started have been completely fulfilled.
Djokovic, the long-running World No.1 since 2014 -- uninterrupted -- and who was World No. 1 for 221 weeks overall -- intermittent -- since first breaking into the top in 2011, was dethroned by Andy Murray as King of Tennis in early November.
Djokovic had vigorously tried to reclaim his throne in a fierce, decisive battle against Murray at the ATP World Tour Finals in London the following month, but failed.
Djokovic, now 29, still trails Tennis Legends Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer on Grand Slam wins.
Nadal has won 14 Grand Slams, while Federer has won 17 Grand Slams -- the current record in tennis.
With Boris Becker -- himself a 6-Time Grand Slam Champion and the youngest Wimbledon Champion at 17 in 1985 -- now out of Djokovic's team, can Djoker still pull-off a comeback and win more Grand Slams?
