F1 : FERRARI THREATENS TO LEAVE FORMULA ONE AFTER 70 YEARS !
Formula One could lose one of its founding pillars, Ferrari.Tweet
Ferrari big boss Sergio Marchionne has issued a statement, they would leave Formula One over core disagreements on new F1 engine regulations.
Formula One wants cheaper and louder engines from manufacturers.
Ferrari disagreed, among others.
"If we change the sandbox to the point where it becomes an unrecognizable sandbox, I don't want to play anymore", said Marchionne.
Ferrari's contract with Formula One ends in 2020.
Ferrari has competed in Formula One since its inception in 1950. They are the most successful Racing Team in the history of the sport.
In fact, F1 is literally synonymous to Ferrari.
It is hard to imagine, a Formula One without Ferrari.
But Liberty Media, the new owner of Formula 1, wants to take F1 to a new direction.
Ferrari thinks, it's the wrong the direction.
Liberty Media took control of Formula One - - the world's most iconic motorsport giant - - in an USD $8 Billion Dollar takeover in September of 2016.
