Heartbreak and tears, as Argentina's quest for World Cup glory comes to an end in Russia, today.

Lionel Messi, the Greatest Footballer on Earth, can't march his army further no more.

At some magical moments, destiny seemed to favour Argentina as they lead the ferocious battle vs. France, 2-1 early in the second half in Kazan.

Then, came France's explosive equaliser at the 57th minute, followed by a quick one-two lethal knock-out punch by teen superstar Kylian Mbappe, which brutally buried the Argentines.

A late header by Sergio Aguero in the dying minutes, was not enough to resuscitate Argentina, the deafening final whistle sealed their fate, 4-3.
