WORLD CUP 2018 : PAOLO GUERRERO - - PERU CAPTAIN AND RECORD TOP GOALSCORER - - WILL PLAY IN RUSSIA AFTER FIFA REDUCED DOPING BAN !

Peru celebrates as its national icon Paolo Guerrero @PaoloGuerrero_ is all-clear to play at the 2018 Russia World Cup @FIFAWorldCup following FIFA's new decision to reduce Guerrero's doping ban in half - - from 1 year to now 6 months.

Paolo Guerrero, Peru's all-time top scorer, has been suspended by FIFA, effective 03 November 2017, for failing a drug test on 05 October. The decision, suspending Guerrero, was issued by FIFA 07 December 2017.

FIFA's verdict was contested by Guerrero citing contaminated tea as the potential culprit before FIFA's Appeal Committee which today amended the Disciplinary Committee's original sanction on Guerrero, reducing his ban.

Lady Luck seems to be on the side of Peru, winning a ticket to the World Cup for the first time in 36 years, and now their banned national hero looks poised to resurrect too quick, to power up his motherland.

La #FIFA le habría reducido a #PaoloGuerrero la sanción a 6 meses y podría jugar el #Mundial de #Rusia2018, así lo afirmó #PedroFida, uno de los abogados encargados del caso del peruano, por lo que siendo así la sanción sería hasta el mes de mayo, dejandolo con todas las posibilidades de jugar el mundial, en declaraciones a medios de comunicación que solo falta que la FIFA dé el comunicado oficial y que luego de esto buscarán apelar ante el #TribunaldeArbitrajeDeportivo (#TAS) y anular por completo la suspensión impuesta.
