TENNIS : ANGELIQUE KERBER TO DETHRONE SERENA WILLIAMS AS WORLD NO.1 ?
Can Angelique Kerber dethrone Serena Williams as World No.1 ? Kerber, who dismissed Roberta Vinci to advance to the 2016 US Open's Semi Finals, is some 190 Ranking Points behind Serena. It is Kerber's first Semi Finals appearance in the US Open, since 2011. She will face former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki in the Final 4. Vinci, on the hand, was Serena Williams' conqueror in 2015 US Open Semi Finals who denied the Tennis Queen the much talked-about, all-important "Calendar Slam" of the year. Serena, still has to get past dangerous Simona Halep to reach the 2016 US Open Semi Finals for the 11th time of her career. As of September 5, 2016, she has been World No.1 for 186 consecutive weeks, a record tied with Tennis Great Steffi Graf. Is Angelique Kerber the one to break Serena's seemingly unstoppable run? Queen Serena looks unimpressed.Tweet
