TENNIS : NICK KYRGIOS SUSPENDED FOR TANTRUMS IN SHANGHAI !
Tennis Tantrum Boy Nick Kyrgios is at it - again!Tweet
For his disgraceful tantrums at the Shanghai Masters last week, he has been suspended for 8 weeks, and is urged to see a psychologist.
He has been slapped an additional $25,000 fine on top of the $16,500 fine already imposed on him for various on-court offenses.
Kyrgios, Ranked World No.14, shamelessly threw away a match to a player Ranked 110, Mischa Zverev - at times just casually tapping his own serve over the net, or walking away from his opponent's ball.
The match lasted just 48 minutes.
When a fan shouted at him to respect the game, Kyrgios went on with his own rant.
At his post-match press conference, The Tantrum Boy said he owe the tennis fans nothing.
"Nick's conduct in Shanghai was unacceptable, disrespectful to the sport and its fans,' said ATP Executive Chairman and President, Chris Kermode.
Nick Kyrgios was found to have committed a major offense ‘Conduct Contrary to the Integrity of the Game.’
Though Kyrgios has apologized for his latest tantrums, a bigger question looms over this tennis brat.
Will he ever be able to comprehend the meaning of two words, most fundamental to his craft - 'sportsmanship' and 'professionalism'?
Lest, he has no place in tennis.
Or in any other sport.
His already long list of disgraceful misbehaviour on and off court is despicable, to say the least.
At 21, he can no longer make his age a usual flimsy excuse.
He is acting like 12, not 21!
Grow up, Kyrgios.
Will you?
