BASEBALL : CHICAGO CUBS WIN WORLD SERIES ; SMASH 108 YEARS OF RECORD DROUGHT !
The world of baseball has been turned upside down as the Chicago Cubs pull-off a breathtaking come-from-behind victory, shattering a seemingly eternal, long dry spell of - believe it or not - 108 long years!Tweet
All hell breaks loose, as the Cubs clinch their victory in an epic, action-and-drama-filled Game 7 over the Cleveland Indians snatching their first World Series Championship Title since 1908, sending fans in complete hysteria - perhaps nirvana for some - with one fan sign saying it all, "Now, I can die in peace".
Euphoria turns into emotion as the incredible story of triumph sinks in to millions of fans across the USA, and elsewhere around the world.
A rain delay has left all the suspense and drama briefly hanging, before action began exploding anew culminating in the extra innings, with an astonishing finish.
Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians, 8-7, in the 10th Innings, right on their own home soil, the Progressive Field, in Cleveland.
The Cubs trailed the Indians in the best-of-seven Series 3-1, but somehow managed to turn things around, against all odds, winning Game 5, Game 6 - and ultimately - Game 7 to pull-off one of the most incredible comeback victory, ever.
History made.
Time turns the taste of victory sweeter than ever before.
