CYCLING : ROBERT MARCHAND - - THE 105-YEARD-OLD WHO DEFIED TIME WITH A NEW WORLD RECORD !
Time is timeless.
So age, must be ageless.
Robert Marchand, a former fireman from France, at an astonishing age of 105, showed the world how to defy age and time - - and proved his childhood coach dead wrong when he said almost a century ago that he would never achieve anything in cycling.
Robert Marchand biked 22 kilometers in just one hour -- a new world record set according to the Union Cycliste Internationale (the International Cycling Union) which had created a new category for over 105 years old.
'I am not here to break any record,' declared Marchand before his ride. I’m doing it to prove that at 105 years old, you can still ride a bike,' he said, rather simplistically.
Robert Marchand's incredible feat had been widely cheered on social media, and around the world, fans instantly grown in huge numbers, lauding him as a great inspiration and a new sports hero.
You're never too old to give something a go! What an incredible story. 👏
