And, and it’s a hell of a ballyhoo.
The boxing world has gone bonkers following Pacquiao’s “crazy” decision loss to Australian former school teacher Jeff Horn, at the Battle Of Brisbane.
Even Hollywood Legends unleashed their wraths on social media, sickened by the apparent anomalous decision.
Jeff Horn, from Queensland, Australia - - a virtual unknown and heavy underdog coming into the fight - - won via unanimous decision after 12 Rounds of toe-to-toe fighting, 115 – 113; 115 – 113; 117 – 111.
Immediately, the judges came under fire like hell on social media.
However, Australia - - the hometown host of the fight - - sees it differently.
Local media and fans celebrated Jeff Horn as their new sporting hero, the Australian Cinderella Man.
And ordinary bloke, worked as a relief school teacher, drives a cheap Toyota Camry, went against all odds to defeat a Boxing Legend, and became a World Champion!
The fairy tale, however, didn’t taste good, elsewhere around the world.
“Jeff Horn wins, and the rest of the world isn’t happy”, headlines the Herald Sun.
“Uhhhhh, Can you say bullshit?”, howled Hollywood Legend Samuel L. Jackson @SamuelLJackson on Twitter.
“This is what's wrong with boxing”, lamented former World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis @LennoxLewis.
While NBA Legend Kobe Bryant @KobeBryant posted a wordless jaw-dropping sarcastic Tweet -- quite literally.
"The biggest robbery in sports", assailed the popular NFL Memes @NFL_Memes.
Jeff Horn, nicknamed “The Hornet”, started strong in the early rounds, electrifying some 50,000 crowd at the jam-packed Suncorp Stadium, in Brisbane, Australia.
“Battle of Brisbane” is Australia’s biggest fight in history.
Manny Pacquiao, however, started punishing the Queenslander midway from the 6th.
Two accidental headbutts on the 6th and 7th added blood to the already bloody brawl unfolding.
On the 9th, Pacquiao began deconstructing Jeff Horn’s face with some brutal power blows, with Horn's family teary in shock, ringside. His father, nearly threw in the towel.
Referee Mark Nelson walked up to Jeff Horn’s corner after the Round, and threatened to stop the fight, if Horn “didn’t show something”, the next.
The fight continued with Pacquiao dominating further towards the end.
Jeff Horn’s victory, unexpected, out-of-this-world as shockingly controversial as it is, was greeted with jubilation throughout Australia, with all the major newspapers bannering Horn's "heroic rise and triumph" as headlines.
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao goes home with a handsome $10 Million Dollar check.
