TENNIS : RAFAEL NADAL OUT OF WIMBLEDON ; BOWS IN EPIC 5-SET MARATHON BATTLE !
If you are going to slay the King, prepare for a bloody war.Tweet
And, it's going to be a long, marathon war.
Tennis Legend Rafael Nadal has fallen at Wimbledon, but not before a lengthy and brutal epic battle, that would definitely go down in the record books as one the greatest classics of the sport.
The King Of Clay - - still fresh from his historic triumph at the French Open just last month- - succumbs to Gilles Muller of Luxembourg in their 4th Round Wimbledon encounter Monday, 3-6; 4-6; 6-3; 6-4; 13-15.
The 5th and decider Set seemed endless, reaching 28 breath-stopping Games of on-edge-of-your-seat, non-stop action.
The epic match lasted for an astonishing 4 hours and 48 minutes.
It started well in time in the afternoon and lasted until late into the English night, derailing remaining schedule of the tournament for the rest of the evening.
"There will be no further play this evening on Centre Court or No.1 Court", announced the Wimbledon @Wimbledon following Nadal and Muller's dramatic clash.
Rafael Nadal's conqueror Gilles Muller, stunned by his own sensational victory, seemed clueless what he has just achieved.
"I haven't really realised what just happened", Muller declared following his win @Wimbledon.
It was the biggest win of his career.
