The news came as a humongous shock to the world, teetering on edge of an apocalyptic nuclear doomsday following months of escalating tension between US and North Korea, fuelled by fiery exchange of tirades, insults, and nuclear threats between Trump and Kim Jong-Un.
NBA Legend Dennis Rodman @DennisRodman who once tried to broker peace between US and North Korea, welcomed the planned meet between Trump and Kim Jong-Un, calling it "historic".
Dennis Rodman had visited North Korea multiple times since 2013, and is the first American to officially meet the notoriously reclusive Kim Jong-Un.
He has called Kim Jong-Un a 'friend for life'.
"One day . . . one day. This door's gonna open", emphatically said Rodman speaking in Pyongyang, North Korea in 2014.
Kim Jong-Un, who was sent by his father to a school in Switzerland undercover when he was young, is a big fan of Dennis Rodman since he was a kid.
If materialized, Donald Trump will be the first-ever US President to sit down face-to-face with a North Korean Dictator.
No US President has ever communicated to a North Korean Supreme Leader, by phone or face-to-face.
Trump and Kim Jong-Un are now reportedly set to meet sometime between today and May of this year.
The historic breakthrough came as a South Korean national security adviser delivered the message to Donald Trump expressing Kim Jong-Un's willingness to meet with him, apparently after months of backchanneling, posturing, and pressuring - - recently eclipsing the Winter Olympics hosted by the South only last month.
