TENNIS : NAOMI OSAKA ELIMINATES SERENA WILLIAMS IN 1ST ROUND DUEL AT MIAMI OPEN !

TENNIS : NAOMI OSAKA ELIMINATES SERENA WILLIAMS IN 1ST ROUND DUEL AT MIAMI OPEN !
"Serena Williams @SerenaWilliams is the main reason why I started playing tennis", thus humbly declares starstruck Naomi Osaka @Naomi_Osaka_ as she admits she 'blanked out' when Serena Williams shook her hand at the net following her sensational win over her childhood idol in the First Round at Miami Open @MiamiOpen.

Naomi Osaka, seen by many as the future of women's tennis, demolished Serena Williams in Straight Sets, 6-3;6-2.

NAOMI OSAKA
The 20-year-old Japanese sensation, still fresh from her incredible run and eventual Championship victory at Indian Wells just three days ago, proved to be too strong and too quick for Serena who dismantled the 23-Time Grand Slam Champion in just 1 hour and 17 minutes.

And while we've said in the past, that tennis now seems to be the sport where 30 is the new 20, the age gap between the two is striking - - quite a generation.

Serena Williams is now 36, Naomi Osaka is just a budding 20-yeard-old.

Literally, young Osaka grew up idolizing Serena - - fantasizing to be her, one day.

Imagine, a young kid meeting her screen superhero in real life?

"I've seen her on TV so many times, and I've always been cheering for her . . . it's kinda weird not to see her on TV for me, and to shake her hand, and stuff", Osaka said of Serena in her Press Conference, post-match, adding that she didn't mind the crowd cheering for Serena as she would cheer for Serena as well, if she was watching their own match.

Respect, Naomi.
