NBA : LUKE WALTON, SACRAMENTO KINGS COACH, ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT BY A REPORTER - - “ACCUSER IS AN OPPORTUNIST” FIRES BACK LAWYER !

FORMER LA LAKERS HEAD COACH, AND NOW NEWLY APPOINTED SACRAMENTO KINGS COACH, LUKE WALTON HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT BY SPORTS REPORTER KELLI TENNANT STEMMING FROM AN INCIDENT WHICH TRANSPIRED INSIDE WALTON'S HOTEL SUITE IN CALIFORNIA BACK IN 2014.

THE ACCUSATION HAS SHOCKED NBA, IN A PRECARIOUS TIME OF '#ME TOO' ERA, WHERE THE ALLEGED VICTIM'S RIGHT TO BE HEARD AND BELIEVED, VIS-A-VIS THE ACCUSED'S RIGHT TO DEFEND HIS HONOUR AND REPUTATION DANGEROUSLY HANG ON A BALANCE.

WALTON AND TENNANT HAD KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR YEARS, HAVING WORK RELATIONSHIP, WHILE TENNANT KNEW WALTON'S WIFE, MEDIA REPORTS SAID.

LUKE WALTON'S FORMER TEAM, THE LA LAKERS, HAS ISSUED A STATEMENT ABOUT THE ISSUE.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM LA LAKERS ON LUKE WALTON CASE :

IN RESPONSE TO MEDIA INQUIRIES, THE LAKERS ISSUE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:

"THIS ALLEGED INCIDENT TOOK PLACE BEFORE LUKE WALTON WAS HEAD COACH OF THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS.

AT NO TIME BEFORE OR DURING HIS EMPLOYMENT HERE WAS THIS ALLEGATION REPORTED TO THE LAKERS.

IF IT HAD BEEN, WE WOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY COMMENCED AN INVESTIGATION AND NOTIFIED THE NBA.

SINCE LUKE WALTON IS NOW UNDER CONTRACT TO ANOTHER TEAM, WE WILL HAVE NO FURTHER COMMENT."

Former Lakers reporter Kelli Tennant has sued Luke Walton saying he sexually assaulted her in his hotel room in May 2017 (TMZ) ____ Newly-hired Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton has been sued for sexual assault by sports reporter Kelli Tennant, per a report from TMZ Sports. She accuses him of forcing himself upon her in a Santa Monica hotel room. ____ In the suit, Tennant says when she arrived at Walton’s hotel, he convinced her to come up to his room so they could discuss the book. She claims when they got up to his room, Walton suddenly pinned her to the bed, placing his hips and legs over her body. In the docs, Tennant claims Walton then began forcing kisses on her neck, face and chest. She claims she screamed for him to stop and tried to free herself, but he held her down, groped her breasts and groin, and rubbed his erection on her leg.

I have a tendency to self sabotage when a lot of things are going well. ⁣ ⁣ On Monday, I kind of panicked. I get really overwhelmed by feelings because I am highly sensitive to my energy and that of others. ⁣ ⁣ Things are going so well for me, and I feel so open and expanded, that I didn’t know what else to do but freak out. ⁣ ⁣ I started questioning if I was worthy of this kind of joy. As I was creating new programs and working on Ceremony Wellness: LIVE with my team, these feelings of “Holy shit we are doing this. What if it doesn’t work?” got really heavy. ⁣ ⁣ I cried. And as I dropped into that overwhelm, I realized I wasn’t scared of all the bad things. ⁣ ⁣ I was having a moment of fear because I was in a place where everything I had been praying for was right in front of me. And I didn’t know how to respond. ⁣ ⁣ I am filled to the brim with happiness and doing the work my whole body knows I am meant to. My heart is so expanded and my capacity to give and receive is at an all time high. My health is the best it has EVER been. ⁣ ⁣ So now what? I have always been ready for a fight. I’m a damn warrior- this I know for sure. It has been my identity for so long. And now, I don’t have to fight. I get to be in this fully and soak it up and live from a place of love and wisdom, rather than fear and anxiety. ⁣ ⁣ The identity shift is real. I love that I can catch myself panicking and know exactly why. I cry. I talk it out. And then I’m ready to fully expand back into things again. ⁣ ⁣ This is my growth. And I make space for it daily.
