FOUR-TIME TOUR DE FRANCE CHAMPION CHRIS FROOME HAS SUFFERED A DEVASTATING BLOW AHEAD OF THE GRAND TOUR IN PARIS FOLLOWING A HIGH-SPEED FREAK CRASH AT A WARM-UP CRITERIUM IN SOUTHEAST FRANCE, FRACTURING HIS LEG, ELBOW AND RIBS.
CHRIS FROOME HAS BEEN AIRLIFTED TO A FRENCH HOSPITAL WHERE HE REMAINS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU), MEDIA REPORTS SAID.

CHRIS FROOME IS A 6-TIME GRAND TOUR CHAMPION, WINNING TOUR DE FRANCE IN 2013, 2015, 2016 AND 2017, WHILE HE WON VUELTA A ESPANA IN 2017 AND GIRO D'ITALIA IN 2018.
HIS TEAM OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED, FROOME IS NOW OUT OF TOUR DE FRANCE AS A RESULT OF THE MULTIPLE SERIOUS INJURIES HE SUSTAINED IN THE FREAK ACCIDENT.
CHRIS FROOME IS THE MOST DECORATED RIDER IN BRITISH HISTORY.
