China can literally shake the world.

Economics. Politics. Internet. Markets. Football.

You name it.

It certainly can, and they love to show it.

With a world-record-shattering offer of more than half a Billion Euros on the table for a single player, China has sent the world of football to a complete head-spin.

Chinese Super League sophomore Hebei China Fortune FC -- just a 6-year-old football club in China -- has offered a mind-boggling EUR €500 Million for Lionel Messi.

The gigantic offer -- roughly USD $625 Million -- is set to break all records in football, 5 times over.

With his contract set to expire in 2018, Lionel Messi -- the greatest footballer that ever walked on Earth -- had been currently in talks with his club Barcelona.

Whatever talks there had been, the Chinese had simply derailed them with their bank-crashing offer.

Barcelona is Lionel Messi's first love, joining the Spanish ward at age 13, leaving behind his childhood club in Argentina.

His rather unusual love story with Barcelona began with a contract born out of haste, signed on a paper napkin over dinner in a restaurant.

And, the rest is history, as we put it.

Some 16 years later, that paper napkin contract is worth more than half a billion dollars!

Can money not buy everything?

Well, Demi Moore once disagreed with the worldly idea of that 'indecent proposal', remember?

But yeah, money can't buy happiness -- perhaps.

FOOTBALL : LUIS SUAREZ SIGNS NEW CONTRACT WITH BARCELONA UNTIL 2021 !

Football striker Luis Suarez has signed a new contract with Barcelona FC, extending his stay with the Spanish power club until 2021.

And, the buyout price would be an eyebrow-raising EUR €200 Million - - roughly, USD $210 Million in today's exchange.

Meaning, that would be the hefty price tag you'll simply have to pay if you want to steal Luis Suarez from Barcelona.

Suarez, together with Brazilian sensation Neymar and Football Legend Lionel Messi, forms the deadly triumvirate of powerhouse Barcelona.

Now 29, Luis Suarez is contracted to stick around at least until he turns 34, with his new 5-year extension with Barca.

'I am happy because I am where I want to be,' Luis Suarez said following the announcement of his new contract.

Suarez actually dreamed of joining Barcelona since he was 16 -- a young teen in his native Uruguay.

Well, it took him a little bit longer before landing on his dream club at age 27, in 2014.

Never too late, or rather, better late than never?

And, after a brief two years of testing-the-waters marriage with Barcelona, now comes a well-deserved, 5-year more serious relationship.

'A very important day for my family and myself,' posted Luis Suarez on his Facebook and Twitter.

'I am glad for this opportunity to stay many more years where I am really HAPPY,' he added, with a hashtag that says it all - - #adream.
