TENNIS : ROGER FEDERER TAKEN OUT BY JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO AT US OPEN !

Roger Federer's quest for an unimaginable 20th Grand Slam trophy has been doused by Juan Martin Del Potro at the US Open.

Del Porto dismissed Federer in four thrilling Sets in their Quarter Finals encounter, 7-5; 3-6; 7-6; 6-4.

"It should hurt. It does. Rightfully so', said Federer following his defeat.

'But, at my age and with the season I've already had, I also have perspective on these losses', added Roger Federer, 19-Time Grand Slam Champion - - the Greatest Of All Time.

Juan Martin Del Potro is among the only few good men who has defeated Federer in a Grand Slam match during his peak years.

Del Potro pulled off one of the biggest upsets in tennis when he defeated Federer at the 2009 US Open Grand Finals, taking home his first - - and only, so far - - Grand Slam trophy of his career.

Federer was then 5-Time Defending Champion winning the US Open in 5 consecutive years, until Del Potro came and broke his record winning streak.

TENNIS : PETRA KVITOVA DEFEATS GARBINE MUGURUZA AT US OPEN ; ADVANCES TO FIRST GRAND SLAM QUARTER FINALS SINCE STABBING ATTACK !

Just 9 months ago, this brave woman was fighting for her life - - robbed, viciously attacked with a knife inside her home.

Now, she is in the Quarter Finals of the US Open!

'Lucky to be alive', said Petra Kvitova following her horrifying ordeal in the hands of a robber who attacked and slashed her with a knife in a botched home invasion robbery in her native Czech Republic in December.

Many thought her career was over, her left hand - - her playing hand - - seriously injured, with four fingers deeply wounded.

Kvitova miraculously recovered fast, and was able to play top class tennis again, since.

She disposed of 2-Time Grand Slam Champion Garbine Muguruza in the 4th Round of this year's US Open in New York.

She now faces 7-Time Grand Slam Champion Venus Williams, in the Quarter Finals.
