OLYMPICS : AMIDST RAIN AND SHOWER, RIO BIDS GOODBYE WITH A BIG BANG. - - HELLO, TOKYO!
"Rio had delivered history!", thus declared the Rio Games organizing committee. Indeed. Against all the odds, amidst the challenges it faced, the dramas down the road, the ups and downs - perhaps best exemplified by the rain and shower that didn't stop the Closing Ceremony spectacle - Rio simply pulled it off! And in style. With raincoats and umbrellas under the windy rain, the party that is so Brazilian - in beat, in color, in dance,in vibe, in music, and in flavor and atmosphere - saw the 31st Olympiad came to a historic and spectacular close. Beset with one of its worst financial crises in recent times, the political turmoil, the scary Zika virus, big sporting legends shunning away, the doping scandal in an unprecedented scale, and the countless dramas that came along the way, the unprepared Olympic athlete's accommodation, the polluted water, and oh, that nasty fake robbery story, and many, many, others. But alas, all is well and that ends well! Indeed, as they say. In an unbelievably tightest shoestring, Rio just did it! Kudos! It would probably be long remembered as one the greatest uphill triumphs in recent history. In every 'goodbye' comes 'hello'. As the Rio Games now come to end, we say 'hello' to Tokyo!
