OLYMPICS : RYAN LOCHTE'S OLYMPIC NIGHTMARE !
While most, if not all, Olympic athletes went to Rio for their Olympic dreams, what Ryan Lochte had got was an Olympic nightmare, instead! Great athletes from around the world strived to bring home the bacon, and honor for their country, but the US top-notch swimmer rather brought home a mess - and a global embarrassment for his country. For making up a fake story, Ryan Lochte had been formally charged by the Brazilian police. The crime? Filing a false report with the police. Under Brazilian law, this carries a maximum penalty of 18 months in jail. The case stemmed from Lochte's fake story that he, and 3 other US Olympic swimmers, were robbed at gunpoint in the early morning of August 15. Apparently, the group had been out drinking, all night. However, when authorities investigated Lochte's story, it turned out, the group was not robbed. Instead, security videos showed, they were confronted by security guards after they vandalized a gas station's toilet, in a drunken nonsense. Lochte will be formally informed in the US about his indictment in Brazil but could be tried - and convicted - in absentia. As a result of this ongoing "Lochtegate' scandal, major sponsors Speedo, Ralph Lauren and others, had dumped the disgraced swimmer. He also had been suspended.Tweet
