OLYMPICS : RIO SHOCKER - TENNIS LEGENDS DEMOLISHED IN FIRST ROUNDS !
In what could be the biggest shocker from the Rio Olympics yet, Tennis' World Number 1 Novak Djokovic has been eliminated in the Men's Singles' first round. If that is not shocking enough, Tennis Legends Serena Williams and Venus Williams had also been eliminated in the Women's Doubles' first round. The Williams sisters are the defending Champions, having won the Gold Medal in 2012 London Olympics, and in 2008 Beijing Olympics and in 2000 Sydney Olympics. Djokovic, a 12-time Grand Slam winner and the highest-earning tennis player of all time, is chasing his first Olympic Gold. Djokovic's Olympic dreams were shattered by Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro in two brutal straight sets. Del Potro, though recently ranked just 141st in the world, has always been considered a dangerous top-notch player in the world, albeit sidelined by years of injuries. He had defeated Tennis Legend Roger Federer in his prime in 2009 and on one of his favorite surfaces - the US Open - a tournament then Federer had won in 5 consecutive years. Djokovic, seen by many as the arch-rival of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to be the Greatest Of All Time, broke in tears as he leaves the court after his devastating loss to Del Potro in Rio.Tweet
