OLYMPICS : YET ANOTHER RIO SHOCKER - - SERENA WILLIAMS KNOCKED-OUT OF OLYMPICS !
Tennis Queen Serena Williams suffered a shock defeat at the Rio Games in the hands of an opponent who had never won against her - until now - reminiscent of the 2015 US Open Semi-Finals thriller where Serena also lost a to a player who had never won against her, until then. Williams was stunned by World No. 20 Elina Svitolina in straight sets in Rio's Women's Singles Tennis, third round. Serena and sister Venus, were earlier eliminated in the first round of the Women's Doubles, where they were the dominant defending champions, and the strong favorite. Serena, who has overpowering presence on the court, has never lost to Svitolina, before Rio. In a very similar fashion, Serena also had never lost to Roberta Vinci, but succumbed to her in a lopsided match in the Semi-Finals of the 2015 US Open. Serena was the overwhelming favorite to win the match, chasing her much-talked-about Calendar Slam - winning all the Grand Slams, in one the same calendar year.Tweet
