Basketball Legend Dennis Rodman simply just hasn't stopped getting himself into trouble.Tweet
Now 55, the former flamboyant 'Bad Boy' of NBA continues to be in the spotlight, his off-court troubles seem to be unceasing - years after his retirement.
The basketball Hall of Famer has been criminally charged Monday with hit and run and faces a maximum time of 2 years in jail.
The case stemmed from an incident in July where Dennis Rodman allegedly drove his SUV, the opposite way, on a Southern California freeway nearly slamming into another car, head-on.
The other car then swerved and crashed into a concrete wall.
Dennis Rodman allegedly fled the scene and later gave false information to the authorities.
He also has been charged with giving false information and driving without a license.
His lawyer explained the incident happened on a freeway exit with poor signs.
Dennis Rodman rectified his error, stopped and spoke to the people aboard the other car, the lawyer said.
'Their cars never touched,' he added.
Dennis Rodman had been a fascinating character inside and outside the basketball world.
Beginning in 2013, he made several visits to North Korea, a seemingly immortal enemy of the United States, and became friends with the infamous North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un - apparently a big fan of his.
Dennis Rodman and his party were the first Americans to have officially met the notoriously reclusive Kim Jong-un, reports say.
He has called Kim Jong-un a 'friend for life'.
Dennis Rodman reportedly tried to backchannel some possible talks between US and North Korea on certain issues, but was shut down by Washington.
