FOOTBALL : FOUR MORE BOYS RESCUED IN VALIANT THAI CAVE RESCUE - - TOTAL OF 8 NOW FREED !
Growing light at the end of tunnel, as four more boys are rescued out to safety Monday, now bringing the total to 8 Thai youth footballers taken out of danger from underneath a flooded treacherous cave complex in Northern Thailand.Tweet
Only four more young footballers, and their coach, remain trapped inside the cave.
Rescue operations paused temporarily, to prepare for a third - - presumably, could be the last - - wave of daring rescue mission.
The first 4 boys were rescued on Rescue Day 1, another 4 boys on Rescue Day 2, and the remaining 5 (including the coach) could be freed on Rescue Day 3.
FOUR MORE BOYS TAKEN OUT TO SAFETY NOW BRINGING
THE TOTAL RESCUED THAI YOUTH FOOTBALL PLAYERS TO 8.
.
The 'Thai Cave Crisis' started June 23, when 12 young Thai football players aged 11 to 16, with their coach, became trapped inside Tham Luang Nang Non, a dangerously deceiving 10-Kilometre limestone cave in Northern Thailand, after heavy rains pounded them while visiting the cave. The group retreated for safety deeper and deeper into the cave network, as monsoon rain flood quickly rose and confronted them.
The team was found by rescuers 10 days later, but remained marooned much longer until authorities had decided on how to extract them, racing against time as more heavy rains were expected soon.
A Thai Navy Seal, Saman Gunan (Saman Kunan), has died July 6, while delivering oxygen tanks for the trapped victims.
The 'Thai Cave Crisis' has become a national outcry for human resolve and spirit in Thailand, and has reverberated worldwide, since.
