NFL : FANS BURN NIKE SHOES AND CLOTHING IN NASTY BACKLASH OVER COLIN KAEPERNICK ADVERT !
The NFL "kneeling" saga has just had a new uglier turn.Tweet
Nike, the world's largest maker of sports shoes and apparel, has unwittingly - - or otherwise - - dragged themselves into the sticky long-running brouhaha.
FANS BURN THEIR NIKE SHOES AND CLOTHING IN NASTY
BACKLASH OVER COLIN KAEPERNICK NIKE ADVERT.
.
Nike, who had just signed up Colin Kaepernick - - the prime mover of the NFL "kneel" anthem protest - - as their new ambassador, main-featured the former San Francisco quarterback in their new advert celebrating 30 years of "Just Do It" social and inspirational campaign.
"Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything", proclaims the new Nike poster slogan, with Kaepernick's face on the backdrop.
COLIN KAEPERNICK MAIN-FEATURED IN NEW NIKE ADVERT
WHICH TRIGGERED MASSIVE BACKLASH FROM FANS.
.
The Kaepernick campaign quickly had been hit with nasty backlash, fans burning their Nike shoes and clothing in protest over the NFL player-activist's involvement as the new face of Nike.
Nike's shares had fallen, as some groups even call for a Nike boycott.
Country singer John Rich cut his Nike socks into pieces, joining the protest. "Get ready Nike, multiply that by the millions", he tweeted.

The NFL "anthem protest" issue which has been going on, back-and-forth since 2016, has bitterly divided America.
The 'Left', believes it's anyone's inherent right to protest, while the 'Right' believes a football game is just simply a wrong place and a wrong time to protest, and that their flag and their national anthem are just the "wrong tree" to bark up on.
In whichever case, the question has heated up further as Donald Trump has taken the issue himself, head-on.
